Thanks to the Treecreds Vehicle-Pass program, we’ve been able to work alongside some of Australia’s most successful music festivals to help offset their transport emissions, while also getting punters involved in the process.

Typically involving the collection of a fee from festival goers as they arrive by car, the Treecreds Vehicle-Pass provides the opportunity for an event to offset its transport emissions, reduce its environmental footprint and become wholly carbon neutral. It’s part of Treecreds’ commitment to providing environmental initiatives that also have creative flair.

The Treecreds Vehicle-Pass provides the opportunity for your business’s event or festival to offset its transport emissions, reduce its environmental footprint and become wholly carbon neutral. It’s part of the Treecreds commitment to providing environmental initiatives that also have creative flair.

The basic idea behind the Treecreds Vehicle-Pass is that punters are given the opportunity to offset their travel emissions, and to work together with you in helping deliver a carbon neutral event.

  • Fact:

To date, we have sold 23,867 vehicle-passes to save Australian and overseas forests.

Transport emissions are commonly the largest contributor to an event’s environmental footprint, and Vehicle-Pass helps you tackle this challenge in the following ways…

  • It shows audience members (at the door) that you are serious about reducing your event’s environmental impact.
  • It is easy to tailor to any size event or festival.
  • It provides valuable transport data of your event or festival.
  • It is inexpensive with only a small fee charged per car, rather than per person.
  • It compliments other Treecreds services, such as our event auditing or having a Treecreds stand at your event or festival.

Through working with some of Australia’s most successful events and music festivals, here at Treecreds we’ve found that audience members thoroughly enjoy being part of the process towards a more sustainable event.

How it works

The nature of your event, and how far it is situated from the main city, will determine the cost of your event’s Vehicle-Pass. Punters are travelling from many directions, but an average distance is easily calculated and incorporated into a suitable pass that will offset the average distance.

  • Before the Event

Once you decide to go with the Treecreds Vehicle-Pass, we will provide you with the appropriate copy for your website and other promotional material. We recommend that punters should be informed about the Vehicle-Pass (whether it is voluntary or compulsory) prior to the event, so that they arrive with some knowledge about the initiative and its associated cost.

  • At the Event

On arrival at the event, and most likely prior to ticket collection, Treecreds staff will approach each car and briefly inform them about the initiative, collect money along with important travel information, and then provide a certificate for their dashboard that outlines what they have purchased, as well as the avoided deforestation project that they are supporting. This process takes 2–3 minutes and works well to occupy punters while they are waiting for their ticket collection.

  • After the Event

Treecreds will…

  1. Inform you of the total number of vehicle-passes sold
  2. Advise the equivalent amount of avoided deforestation carbon credits to be retired.
  3. Provide you with a formal retirement agreement for those credits

Treecreds will have collected valuable transport data that we can incorporate into our audit of your event (or if you are using additional services from another provider, it will be made available to them). It will allow for a far more accurate and transparent account of the total impact of your event.

Finally, Treecreds will provide you with suitable copy for your website to publish the results of the Vehicle-Pass initiative.
