Gaytimes Festival

Gaytimes Festival is a boutique music, arts and camping festival for the whole lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and gender diverse communites that takes place every February. As a social enterprise, Gaytimes aims to provide a platform for emerging queer and gender diverse artists to be seen and heard.
The organisers of Gaytimes first approached Treecreds in 2018 to help drive sustainable transport initiatives. In that first year, we received full support from event attendees for the Treecreds Carbon Carpass program, leading to the purchase and retirement of 32 tonnes of forest-saving carbon credits. Free personal ashtrays were also distributed, and Treecreds was also able to gather lots of valuable data on punter transport that will assist with future events. In 2019, another 36 carbon credits were retired on behalf of the festival.
Gaytimes has relocated from its original site at Lake Mountain Alpine Resort to a wonderfully green site in Gembrook. For the 2022 festival, the organisers are doing a stellar job working to lower their environmental impact by encouraging the majority of attendees to travel by coach and keeping cars offsite.
